How Many Calls Did You Miss Last Week?

Industry data shows 30–40% of inbound calls to trade businesses go unanswered. For a plumbing business taking 80 calls a month, that's $5,400 in missed revenue, every single month.

The Calls You're Missing

Every missed call is a job going to your competitor

You're on the tools

Phone rings when you're under a house or on a roof. By the time you're free, they've called someone else.

After hours is dead time

A burst pipe at 9pm is a $600–$900 job. If it goes to voicemail, it goes to your competitor.

Generic answering services don't cut it

They take a message and send an email. They don't know your service area, can't triage urgency, and can't book into your calendar.

What the AI Receptionist Does

From ring to booked job, no human needed

  1. 1

  5. 5

Classifies the job (emergency / routine / quote)

  6. 6

Books directly into ServiceM8, Tradify, or Jobber

  7. 7

  8. 8

If emergency: SMS alert to your on-call tech

Total call time: 2–4 minutes. Job in the system before you finish your current one.

Running something the standard connectors do not reach, or want work wired in that sits outside the product? That is the part worth a conversation, and it is what the consulting side is for. Tell us what you run.

Built-In ACMA Compliance

Most AI voice agents skip the one sentence that keeps you out of trouble

Sit through a few vendor demos and you’ll notice how many AI receptionists never say they’re AI. It sounds like a nice touch to leave out. It is actually two separate exposures, and both of them land on you rather than on whoever built the agent: it is your business name answering the phone.

The first is consumer law. No federal rule compels AI disclosure yet, but the ACCC has named AI deception an enforcement priority, and a caller who thought they were speaking to a person when they weren’t is the textbook shape of misleading conduct. The second is recording, and it is the harder one: these platforms record every call by default, while Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT each require everyparty to consent to being recorded. You cannot know which state your caller is sitting in, so the only safe standard is the strictest one. An agent that quietly records a Melbourne caller isn’t a tick you forgot: it is a surveillance-devices problem in three jurisdictions.

Both are solved by one sentence at the top of the call. Ours says it on every single one, which is why the demo you can ring says it to you too.

AI Disclosure

Every call opens with a clear AI identification and recording notice, meeting ACCC consumer law guidelines and state surveillance device requirements.

Privacy Act Ready

Data collection follows the Australian Privacy Principles. Only necessary information is captured, callers are notified, and SMS consent is collected before any message is sent.

Spam Act Compliant

All automated SMS includes sender identification and opt-out options. Transactional messages are kept separate from marketing. Consent is recorded with timestamps.

Covers ACMA regulations, Privacy Act 1988 (APPs), Spam Act 2003, and state-level surveillance device laws (VIC, TAS, ACT all-party consent). This is how we build and what we watch for, not legal advice: your own adviser should have the final say on your obligations.

Risk-Free Guarantee

We'll build and test your AI receptionist and let you run it for 30 days. If it doesn't answer more calls and book more jobs than before, you don't pay the monthly subscription.

The Rest of the Trades Library

Missed calls are one job of many. Each white paper walks through another one end to end: what a machine can decide on its own, what still needs a person, and what the change is actually worth. No signup.

We'll walk through your current intake process, calculate how many calls you're likely missing, and show you exactly what the AI receptionist would do differently.

Trades is where we started, it's not all we do

Everything on this page is still fully supported. We've also taken the same playbook into accounting, real estate, and professional services, and built two products of our own: Office Voice and workmylist. If you run a trade business plus something else, or your bottleneck is getting paid rather than getting calls, start with our full services.
