Using Claude with Simpro: what connects today
ServiceM8 and Xero have connected to Claude. Simpro has not: its own AI, Lightning, works inside Simpro instead. Here is how to get AI working on your Simpro anyway, safely.
How to get this live in your business
It is Tuesday night and you want to know which quotes are still sitting with customers. If you ran ServiceM8 or Xero, you could ask Claude, because both have connected to it. Ask Claude about your Simpro and it has nothing to read. You can change that, and do it safely.
In short
- The short answer
- Simpro has no official Claude connector (checked October 2026). Its own AI, Lightning, works inside Simpro.
- What Lightning does
- The work inside a job: getting a technician ready, capturing notes on site, the summary when it closes, and answering questions about your data.
- Want Claude itself?
- We connect it to your Simpro on a key you create and can delete, or your developer builds it from our free spec. Section 4.
- Another company's tool
- Ask five questions before it touches your customer records. Section 3.
- Calls before a job exists
- A missed call never reaches Simpro at all. That is what our voice agent answers. Section 5.

1. Simpro has no Claude connector, so you have three options
| Option | Who provides it | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Lightning, inside Simpro | Simpro | Work inside a job, and questions about your Simpro data |
| Another company’s tool that links Claude to Simpro | An integration company | Using Claude on your Simpro data, if it passes the questions in section 3 |
| Claude connected to your Simpro directly | Us, your developer, or Claude Code | Answers you can check, on a key you control (section 4) |
ServiceM8 and Xero both connect to Claude themselves. Those are covered in the ServiceM8 guide and the Xero guide.
2. Lightning handles the work inside a job
Simpro launched Lightning on 14 May 2026, in Simpro and in its AroFlo and BigChange products. By Simpro’s own description, four AI helpers went live at launch:
- JobReady gathers what a technician needs before they head out.
- JobScribe writes down what happens on site as the technician talks: hours, materials, what they found and compliance notes.
- JobBrief writes a plain-language summary when the job closes.
- FieldReady helps new technicians get up to speed faster.
JustAsk lets you ask questions about your business from inside Simpro. For work that happens once a job exists, start here: it is built by Simpro and sees everything Simpro sees.
3. Ask five questions before another company’s tool touches your Simpro
Several companies sell tools that link Claude and other AI assistants to Simpro. Some are good. All of them sit between an AI and the system that holds your customers, your prices and your invoices. Ask five questions first:
- Whose computers does your data pass through, and in which country?
- What can it change? Looking at jobs is one risk. Creating invoices is another. Ask for the list of what it can do, and switch off anything you do not need.
- Whose login does it use, and can you switch it off yourself in one step?
- Is there a record of everything it did that you can read without asking the supplier?
- Does Simpro support it? If something goes wrong, know in advance who you will be calling.
If the answers are vague, let it only look at your data, or do not use it.
4. We can connect Claude to your Simpro, or your developer can build it free
Once Claude can read your Simpro, you can ask which quotes are still waiting on customers, what a job says, or who to ring about overdue invoices. Every answer comes with the Simpro record number behind it, so you can check it.
It runs on an access key you create in your own Simpro, like a spare key to the office. Delete the key and the connection stops. Here is how it answers the five questions:
- What can it change? It starts by only reading your jobs, quotes, invoices and customers. If it ever adds a job, it first checks the job is not already there, and a person approves anything a customer will see.
- Whose login does it use? Yours: the key you created. Delete it in Simpro and everything stops.
- Is there a record? Every request is written down where you can read it without asking us.
- Whose computers? Where your data goes is set out in writing before anything is connected.
- Does Simpro support it? No, we do. It uses the connection Simpro offers its own customers, and if something goes wrong you call us.
Tell us the job you most want off your plate, and we will tell you what connecting it involves.
Would rather build it yourself? The Simpro Claude Connector standard is the free, step-by-step spec your developer or Claude Code follows, with a test that proves it works. The same safeguards apply when Claude handles work that ends up in Simpro:
| The job | Standard | What it guarantees |
|---|---|---|
| A call becomes a job | Booked After Hours | The address is checked, not typed from the call; one job per caller per day; no price quoted on the call |
| A quote is drafted | Quote Out | Prices only come from your price list; the draft goes into Simpro; a person sends it |
| A finished job is invoiced | Invoice Out | Only jobs marked complete; no variation billed without a signature; one invoice per job |
Not sure who should build it? Build, buy, or have it built helps you decide.
5. The calls that never become a job never reach Simpro
Lightning starts once there is a job. The call that never becomes one, at 9pm or while the office line is busy, never gets that far.
That is what Booked After Hours answers. It picks up on your number, tells the caller it is an AI, and the job is in Simpro before they hang up, ready for Lightning. $119 a month, flat, with no call caps and no per-minute charges. The Simpro integration page shows exactly what gets written.
6. If Simpro releases its own connector, the safeguards still apply
This guide changes the day it does, and the standards do not. They say what a booking, a quote or an invoice must and must never do, not which pipe it travels through, so anything built to them carries over.
7. Start with the one job costing you most
- Try Lightning for the work inside a job.
- Pick the one job you most want off your plate, and read its standard.
- If that job is the phone, work out what missed calls cost you first.
- Then choose: another company’s tool, a direct connection, or a ready-made product.

Hear how our voice agent takes an after-hours call and turns it into one job. Then size your own missed calls: two minutes, your numbers, no email.
Technical? The build standard is open. Take it.
